My journey into visual effects began during the COVID-19 pandemic when I completed the infamous Blender Donut tutorial.
From there I began to learn more about the industry through YouTube videos such as VFX Artists React and documentaries about films such as The Movies that Made Us on Netflix. I also began to follow more tutorials and expand my skills in all areas of 3D: Modelling, Texturing, Lighting and Rendering.
In 2024, I expanded my skills to Gaea, a software that can procedurally generate landscapes.
Around the same time I applied to the Framestore Launchpad program and was selected. In November 2024, I did a week long hackathon at their London office and worked in a group of people who I didn't know but quickly became familiar with. We produced a quality final product that earnt us second place in the hackathon.
I also walked away with a good idea of how an industry leader functions and that I definitely wanted to work in the VFX industry.
